Default bifocal lens

Bifocal lens: If your prescription specifies bifocal lenses, it means you have two prescriptions in one lens. Whether you're reading a book, watching TV or driving,
with bifocal lenses you only ever need one pair of bifocal glasses which is a combination for both distance and reading.

Bifocal lens contain two prescriptions, the top part of the lens will be used for your distance vision and the bottom part will be used for reading, there is a line separating distance and reading sections.

Since your question have been answered, let me just add this info:
Bifocals also have the no line bifocals, top distance and bottom reading but without the line.
I just love them. Very convenient to me.

Default bifocals without a line,

if you are looking for bifocals without a line, just pick progressive glasses. also called no line bifocal, These glasses combine distance glasses and reading glasses in one lens.

Bifocals are two prescription in one lens. Your prescription tells you it is for Bifocals if it does have SPHERE (+ ) for nearsighted, (-) for farsighted , CYLINDER and AXIS numbers for astigmatism correction (if any) and ADD numbers for reading.

It is two prescription in one lens separated by a visible line, top for single vision distance glasses and bottom for reading (near vision Correction).

Bifocal lens is having two lenses in one. It has your top distance vision correction and bottom reading separated by a "D" shaped line

How do I find out (if any) what my CYL or AXIS numbers are? I don't have my prescription with me and the lovely people at the eye glass place I had my exam at are unwilling or too busy to help.

you need to go to an optometrist and have your eyes check, in order for you to know your RX, that includes CYL and AXIS
