What is a progressive lenses?

I want to have anew pair of glasses, I have always worn bifocals, I have realized there is another lenses called Progressive lenses. Does anyone know what is a progressive lenses?

I used progressive lenses even before, and as far as i know, Progressive Glasses are also called No-Line Bifocal. These glasses combine with distance glasses and reading glasses in one lens.

Progressive lenses are lenses used to correct vision which offer a gradation across the lens which provides several degrees of magnification. These lenses are classically prescribed to older adults who have presbyopia. Historically, older adults required bifocal or even trifocal lenses for vision correction. These lenses could be uncomfortable to wear, not least because the distinctly different zones of magnification caused image jumps. With progressive lenses, there are no lines and no clearly demarcated zones, making for much smoother vision.

Progressive lenses are also known the NO LINE BIFOCALS, it has 3 parts for vision. top part for distance, middle part and bottom part that progress gradually for reading vision or near vision.

I need progressive lenses, and in my prescription there is ADD for right eye or OD, but my left eye or OS is blank, what number i am going to put in the ADD left or OS? do i have to put zero (0)? please help?

You don't have to put zero on your left eye or OS, just put the same number, because ADD for both eyes have the same numbers,
