Default What is DV and NV means?

I just got my first visit to the eye doctor. I felt I needed glasses, my eyes are blurry when I look at distant objects. I got the prescription that says "DV OD and OS -1.50 CYL SPH AXIS is BLank. And NV +1.50 OU. Can anyone let me know about this stuff?

Default DV and NV on your prescription

# DV is an abbreviation for distance vision. This specifies the part of the prescription designed primarily to improve far vision. In a bifocal lens, this generally indicates what is to be placed in the top segment.
# NV is an abbreviation for near vision. This may represent a single-vision lens prescription to improve near work, or the reading portion of a bifocal lens. Some prescription forms use ADD in place of NV with a single box to indicate the additional refractive power to be added to the spherical of each eye.

g) CYL = CYLINDER power; the amount of astigmatism correction
h) X = axis; X 80 or AXIS 080
i) ADD = the amount of power that gets added to the distance prescription (this creates your reading-only prescription) or for the lower portion of your bifocals/progressives.
j) NV = near-vision (your prescription is for reading only)
k) PD = pupillary distance (the measurement in millimeters (mm) between both pupils)

DV or distance vision correction on OD right eye and OS left eye is Both -1.50, this is for seeing far distance objects. CYL and AXIS are blank which means you do not need astigmatism correction. NV is near vision which determines your reading power or the near vision correction.
