Default Adjusting period on new eyeglasses

I need to know how soon can a person adjust to a new pair of eyeglasses. I just have a recent eye exam and found out that I need to upgrade into Progressives. I have worn Bifocals for several years now.

Default easier to adjust to.

Progressive Glasses are also called No-Line Bifocal or Varifocal. These glasses combine distance glasses and reading glasses in one lens.

There are 2 types of progressive technology on the market. Traditional Progressive and "Wide View" Free Form Progressive.Traditional progressive's view are limited to a channel in the middle of the lens, called field of view. If you look outside the field of view such as edge of the lens, you might see distortion. While "Wide View" progressive has twice as big field of view than traditional progressive, therefore you rarely have any distortion in your viewing area, which makes it more comfortable to wear and easier to adjust to.

Progressives are known for its distortion properties. For first time wearer of progressives, we strongly recommend you choose wide view or free form progressives. Unlike standard progressive lenses that has very limited viewing channel at the center of your lenses, wide view allows a wider viewing channel thus letting you experience less distortion than the standard. But it takes a week or so wearing the glasses on all the time to adjust to a new pair of eyeglasses.
