How does one know if you have astigmatism?

I just got my eyes checked for the first time. I recently felt there is something wrong with my vision. I see blur when seeing distance objects. The doctor told me I am farsighted with slight astigmatism on my right eye. How can anyone tell I have astigmatism?

Astigmatism is caused by two focal points that are focused on at the back of the eye the retina. Normal caused by the natural shape of the eye. People with astigmatism do see differently when they are uncorrected and they do not have their glasses on they may see double and often times see more halos around the light at night time. Small astigmatism can be corrected by wearing glasses or refractive surgery.

Astigmatism is when you see double vision especially on reflective lights at night. Little astigmatism can be corrected by wearing glasses. As you can see on your prescription, CYLINDER and AXIS combines to determine the astigmatism correction.
