Default Is there anyway I can measure PD all by myself?

I would like to order glasses online, I have my script and am now ready to order, but I bumped into PR number thing. It is not written on my Rx, how do I get this measured?

yes you can measure your PD by yourself just simply by looking in the mirror. If you need your glasses on to do this, you can draw dots on the lenses where your pupils are (using a magic marker or highlighter); then take the glasses off and measure the distance between them.

You have several ways to obtain Pupil Distance, but we strongly recommend to having your PD measured by a professional.

1. If you bought glasses before, contact the store you got your glasses from and ask them for your PD(recommended).
2. Go to a local eyewear store or optometrist office and get your PD measured. Most of them will only charge $5 for measuring your PD(recommended).
3. Contact your optometrist for your PD(recommended).
4. Measure the PD yourself, though not recommended

To measure your Pupillary Distance, Place a regular ruler on the bridge of your nose. Have a friend face you about arms length away. Have your friend measure the distance between the center of your pupils (the black dots in the middle of your eyes).

a customer service person had told me I could measure the PD myself. I measured a 3 and thought that would be. but i was told that Most adults' PD's are between 55-65. Most kids' PD's are between 42-54.

Default Tips on how to measure PD

here are some tips on how to measure your own PD numbers:

Place a regular ruler on the bridge of your nose. Have a friend face you about arms length away. Have your friend measure the distance between the center of your pupils (the black dots in the middle of your eyes). Or you can do it yourself simply by looking in the mirror. If you need your glasses on to do this, you can draw dots on the lenses where your pupils are (using a magic marker or highlighter); then take the glasses off and measure the distance between them.

Its a big NO NO,,, don't put anything that its not written on your prescription, PD is very important, its the distance between the centers of your pupils in millimeters, it will affect your vision if you put wrong PD numbers.
