Default PD numbers

I am not sure how to read my prescription under PD numbers. It says " DPD" 32mm OU, and "NPD 30mm OU".
What does this mean?

Your pupillary distance, or PD, is the distance between the centers of your pupils in millimeters (mm).

This measurement is necessary to ensure the correct positioning of your lenses within the frame you have chosen.

DPD means distance PD, this is used for far distance vision
OU means BOTH eyes
NPD means Near PD, used for near vision such as reading.

If you do not have PD on your prescription, you don't need to chose or put any numbers. visit or call your eye doctor for your PD numbers, just to make sure to avoid mistake on your Rx,

You have several ways to obtain Pupil Distance, but we strongly recommend to having your PD measured by a professional. so better call your eye doctor.

Default Here's some tips

1. If you bought glasses before, contact the store you got your glasses from and ask them for your PD(recommended).
2. Go to a local eyewear store or optometrist office and get your PD measured. Most of them will only charge $5 for measuring your PD(recommended).
3. Contact your optometrist for your PD(recommended).
4. Measure the PD yourself, though not recommended

Default To measure your Pupillary Distance (PD):

Place a regular ruler on the bridge of your nose. Have a friend face you about arms length away. Have your friend measure the distance between the center of your pupils (the black dots in the middle of your eyes). Or you can do it yourself simply by looking in the mirror. If you need your glasses on to do this, you can draw dots on the lenses where your pupils are (using a magic marker or highlighter); then take the glasses off and measure the distance between them.

Like most doctors do, they do not write the PD number on the copy of prescription, you need to ask them during the eye exam or call your doctor's office and ask for PD number. this is recommended.
