The bifocal lenses has two vision field which can both see clearly for far and near distance.

bifocals were based on the theory that a person usually looks down when looking at something close up – reading, for example - and looks up when looking further away; therefore the bottom half of the lens was usually designed for close vision. Later bifocals had another lens actually cemented onto the larger lens; today most bifocals are made by molding a small reading lens into the larger lens. Bifocals are available in many different designs with the reading part of the lens available in several different shapes and sizes – there are also trifocals, which have three different lenses.
